Structural Integration

In addition to being a graduate of the American Institute of Massage Therapy 600 hour program in Ft. Lauderdale Florida as well as the Downeast School of Massage 600 Hour program in Waldoboro Maine, Melanie is also a graduate of Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI) and offers ATSI sessions to client in her studio in Wiscasset.

Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI) is a closed set of 12 manual therapy sessions  delivered over 16 weeks that has been successfully administered globally since 2008. ATSI is evidence informed and treats postural patterns, chronic pain and movement dysfunction with soft tissue treatment specific to the individual based on detailed evaluations and assessments, often resulting in greater vitality and resilience. Research has shown that Structural Integration significantly reduces chronic stress and changes the body structure in gravity, often resulting in reduced pain symptoms and dependence on medication. The client participates in treatment with movement and awareness, and often times - homework!
